The Crunching of Numbers

Adding fractions has always given me problems, actually any type of math has always given me problems. 4th grade math and 5th grade math was a real huge struggle for me. I actually had to go to summer school one of those years before graduating to junior high. That really screwed up that summer for me and I started working extra hard after that so that I’d never have to do that again.

Back then we didn’t have the Internet to turn to. Now a days students can find tutoring on their computers, how cool is that? A handy dandy online Algebra solver would certainly come in handy for this kid back then when I finally got into High School. At this point in my life I depend on my calculator to get me through the day!

Cardiff Castle

Looking around online just a bit learning some of places in the surrounding over in the U.K. that a group of the family is planning on visiting in the near future, if we can work it all out. I have to say that Cardiff looks pretty cool. I’d love to visit the Cardiff Castle that was built by the Romans, who were the first people to settle the area owing to its strategic location at the centre of three river systems, set up their original wooden fortification in AD 55 high atop the hill overlooking Cardiff.

This castle has over 2,000 years of history that they are willing to share with the public, with tons of events for everyone who visits and tours the castle and it’s grounds.

I just checked the weather there, it is sunny and in the 50’s, pretty much the same as here!

Satellite Versus Cable

When I first moved into my new home, it was cable ready, but I knew from the start that I would prefer to subscribe to a satellite company instead, which I switched to immediately after all of the final paperwork was signed, and everything said and done, in the closing of the house. For the most part I have been happy with satellite, it has been just recently that I noticed an increase on my monthly bill and due to a lot of the high winds that we have been experiencing here, I have lost our signal a whole lot more than usual.

The main issue I have right now is the selection on movies that they have to offer as of late, on their Pay Per View Movies, the last couple of times that I have wanted to just kick back and order a movie just by clicking a few buttons on the remote, their hasn’t been much of a selection that I find appealing enough to order.

Raisinets

Funny how I was typing about chocolates and just had to find some before going to bed. I found a new bag of Raisinets which have been a favorite of mine for many years. The Nestle company has recently started selling Raisinets with dark chocolate in order to jump on the band wagon that has been getting stronger each year. I haven’t even tried it myself, I’ve very happy with the milk chocolate ones, so why mess with perfection, right?

TWINS!

My favorite team is the Minnesota Twins, not because they are a good team that cannot beat the Yankees under any circumstances. Not because they have an exciting young catcher whose greatness is only surpassed by his inability to hit against the Yankees. No, I am a fan of the Twins because of their ineluctable ability to hit into double plays, of which they led the league in this year. Part of the credit goes to their innate powers to get on base, but not to hit extra base hits. After all, you can’t hit into double plays without getting on first. Once somebody is on base, the next part requires being extremely slow.

The Twins are full of players who have absolutely no speed, but yet still love to hit ground balls. If you have a guy on first who is as fast as a turtle with a limp, and you have a batter who is of equal portliness and like to swing at pitches that sink, then you have the perfect recipe for a double play. It is the most ballet like play in all of baseball, and I am a huge fan of the arts and dance, with their wonderful music, especially the trumpets. This is why watching the Minnesota Twins play is a must for me, and why I catch them every night on my satellite tv package.
