Satellite Versus Cable

When I first moved into my new home, it was cable ready, but I knew from the start that I would prefer to subscribe to a satellite company instead, which I switched to immediately after all of the final paperwork was signed, and everything said and done, in the closing of the house. For the most part I have been happy with satellite, it has been just recently that I noticed an increase on my monthly bill and due to a lot of the high winds that we have been experiencing here, I have lost our signal a whole lot more than usual.

The main issue I have right now is the selection on movies that they have to offer as of late, on their Pay Per View Movies, the last couple of times that I have wanted to just kick back and order a movie just by clicking a few buttons on the remote, their hasn’t been much of a selection that I find appealing enough to order.

Memories of Christmas and The Family Music Celebration

Each Christmas brings back a flood of memories of many of the holidays during my childhood. The one thing that I miss the most is the family music that was always made and played at my great aunt and uncle’s house. Coming from an extremely musical family it only made sense to celebrate with music. Just about everyone played at least one musical instrument and if they didn’t they surely had a great singing voice. If by chance you couldn’t do either you were kept busy in the kitchen and the dining room making sure that there was a steady flow of food and drink ready during the entire celebration. Since I can’t play any instrument or carry a tune, I can only thank goodness I was a kid and didn’t have to partake in that. I was too busy running around the house, the yard and digging the music being played in the living room.

Uncle Earl was my favorite (for a variety of reasons) I can still see him playing one of his many beautiful gently used saxophones that he was so proud of. I could never understand how a person could play one of these saxophones. It requires so much breath, surely one could possibly pass out from the lack of oxygen being passed through the body. Actually most of the windwind and basswind instruments require such a talent, a talent that just leaves this person breathless.

My Crock Pot Put to Use

I don’t know what I would do with out my slow cooking Crock Pot, now that I have figured out so many ways to use it, I find myself pulling it out from under the counter more and more as time goes by. Today was a perfect day to put it to use, they way it spills the aroma all through out the house is just wonderful and keeps everyone from wondering too far from the house come dinner time, that puts a smile on my face.

Aching Back

For the past couple of months I have woken up with one heck of a back ache. I do believe that it is the mattress that I’m sleeping on. This has got to stop, having a back ache all day really sucks. Looks like I’ve got to look into buying a new mattress. Not something that I’m looking forward to doing, all the time and money that it is going to take to find the perfect one since I’m not planning on buying one online.

Buying a mattress is something that you need to do in person when trying to find one that will be comfortable as well as good for my aching back issues.

One Girl’s Dream Bathtub

One thing that I have always dreamed about having is a really cool claw foot tub, you know the kind that you always see the movie stars soaking in filled with bubbles, surrounded by numerous candles burning, making it an ultimate bath tub experience. I have never had the pleasure of soaking in one myself, but a girl can dream can’t she?

All that is needed now are the bubbles!
