The memo that we all received today at work, concerning this year’s “office party” broke it all down for everyone to read and learn from. We have all been
asked instructed with at least one task in order to share the load and to try and keep the cost as low as possible.
This year we will all be meeting at the local VFW on the Thursday night before Christmas, December 19th, at 6:00. I was asked to buy printed tablecloths with the company logo. Of course the company will reimburse me. They are always prompt at reimbursing any of us.
With this in mind I guess I need to get started. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find and order. The sooner they get here, the sooner I get reimbursed. I don’t need to
The pedal power 4×4 at musicians friend that I ordered last week came in today. I hope that my nephew will be impressed with this Voodoo Lab Pedal Power that he will find under the Christmas tree come Christmas morning. I wish that I could be there to see the look on his face. My sister has promised to take plenty of pictures to post on Facebook, so that will just have to do.
It’s a shame that my family just keeps on spreading out farther and farther with each passing year. I can’t image getting the whole family together for Christmas or Thanksgiving any time soon. I don’t think it would happen for a wedding either. And let us hope that we don’t have any funerals to find out how many would be able to attend.
When my 13 year old nephew stated at dinner over the weekend, that he was looking at a ButtKicker, I really thought that it was some type of exercise equipment. I had no idea that ButtKicker was the name of various musical pieces of equipment. I just can’t tell you how old I felt when I was put back into reality and told that I was totally uncool! Hmpf!
Every generation has grand dreams of vacationing in distant lands and countries. I’m sure the urge to travel and see places that are unknown to us is a primal one. My parents always wanted to take the whole family to Japan and then Vietnam. They were always so into the Asian culture that it was a dream we were all convinced would come true. Unfortunately we never got to make that adventure a reality. We still all talk about it from time to time though. However, we were planning on a trip to the U.K.
There are several people involved with this trip so it is going to take a miracle to get this all planned out in a way that everyone will be happy! It seems that the more people you involve the harder it is to actually have good time, but that has never stopped us before so it won’t be too much of a problem this time. We thing I’d like to do is stay at the Bristol Hotel(s) at least one night, if not more. I have a friend who stays at the Bristol and always rants and raves about it. I have always wanted to see it for myself, but I never imagined that I really would one day in the future.
This is going to take some organizing, and I don’t think we will be going any time soon. My sister and her hubby are doing a lot of the research and planning, which is just fine with me. I’m pretty easy to get along with so I’ll be happy with just about anything as long as everyone else is happy and getting along with each other!
You know how there are some people that are just plain out and out lucky. Lucky with cards, lucky with the ladies, lucky in love. Good luck isn’t something that radiates from me. I don’t even bother buying lottery tickets no matter how big the pot gets. To me it’s just like throwing my money right down into the toilet. Times are hard enough as it is.
My older brother on the other hand seems to have all the luck with just about anything that he gets his hands into. He was quite the bachelor around town for a good many a years. Now he is happily married to a gal that he went to high school with, along with two kids, two cars, a great career and a decent mortgage payment that allows him to live the lifestyle that he still does at this point. I don’t know all that many people that are still managing to hang on to their homes or their jobs, so he is really a lucky man.
He and his wife are scheduled to fly out to Las Vegas to stay at the aria las vegas resort and casino at citycenter before the 2013/2014 school year starts and life starts getting busy again for the whole family. They are leaving the kids at the folk’s house for their long Labor Day weekend play date that they are so excited about pulling off. My guess is that I’ll be stopping by that weekend to give my mother a rest from her grandchildren for a few hours. They can be a real hand full and my mother can only take so much these days.
