Memories of Christmas and The Family Music Celebration

Each Christmas brings back a flood of memories of many of the holidays during my childhood. The one thing that I miss the most is the family music that was always made and played at my great aunt and uncle’s house. Coming from an extremely musical family it only made sense to celebrate with music. Just about everyone played at least one musical instrument and if they didn’t they surely had a great singing voice. If by chance you couldn’t do either you were kept busy in the kitchen and the dining room making sure that there was a steady flow of food and drink ready during the entire celebration. Since I can’t play any instrument or carry a tune, I can only thank goodness I was a kid and didn’t have to partake in that. I was too busy running around the house, the yard and digging the music being played in the living room.

Uncle Earl was my favorite (for a variety of reasons) I can still see him playing one of his many beautiful gently used saxophones that he was so proud of. I could never understand how a person could play one of these saxophones. It requires so much breath, surely one could possibly pass out from the lack of oxygen being passed through the body. Actually most of the windwind and basswind instruments require such a talent, a talent that just leaves this person breathless.

Josh Point 0

The Comedy Channel is on most of the time these days. I’m a firm believer of laughter being the best medicine and with this god awful heat that we have been experiencing each and every day, over and over again, we could use a good dose of some mighty fine medicine, along with a nice cold beer!

One of my favorite shows to watch on The Comedy Channel is Josh.O. This dude just continues to crack me up and he is easy on the eyes as well. I’ve talked with some folks that think he crosses the line just a tad bit more than they would like and have stopped watching his show. So far I still find him funny and will continue watching him until they drop an axe on him, which is something that is hanging over his head on a daily basis.

So Much Better than a Flu Shot!

Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was greatly admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her nice quaint little sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared them both some tea.. As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cute glass bowl sitting on top of it.

This bowl was filled with water, and in the water floating, of all things, a condom! When she returned with the tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist. ‘Miss Beatrice’, he said, ‘I wonder if you would tell me about this?’ Pointing to the bowl. ‘Oh, yes,’ she replied, ‘Isn’t it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, and keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven’t had the flu all winter..

Dance Lessons In Santa Monica

My first dance lessons santa monica were a lot of fun. I slept real good the other night, but boy oh boy didn’t my body let me know just how out of shape it really is. I used to go to a few yoga classes now and then. Even took some Zumba classes for a good period of time but that has been a couple of years ago. I do believe that I will start limbering up and stretching out before I take another dance class. The only thing that has felt that bad was a nasty hangover January 1st 2000!

TV at Home

I have direct tv at home and I watch a lot more TV than I’d probably like to admit. I really love everything on TBS mostly because it’s reruns and a lot of the best movies from when I was growing up. I like Friends a lot and Sex and the City, both of which they air a lot, but they also do all kinds of great comedies like The Hangover and also pretty much every movie Cameron Diazhas ever been in.

I love watching TV in the afternoons when I get home from my night shift and wake up from my long nap and you know, that’s the best way I can think of to let off steam and get the break I need from the day. I don’t know why so many people like to go on runs or play with the dog – if you asked me what I’d like to be doing at any given moment it would be watching something on TV! That’s the truth!
