My DVR has got to be the most useful and used device in my life. I’ve always been a big fan of television and movies, but with all the latest technologies like satellite TV from DirectStartv.com and digital video recorders, I’ve become a full blown media junkie. I record it all.
My DVR has completely changed the way I watch TV. I no longer have to stay up late to catch shows, or miss them altogether because I was at work or doing something else. Now everything comes to me when I want it, and I don’t miss a thing. And best of all, I don’t have to buy, maintain, replace or store a single video tape. Oh how I love that little magic box. It’s like having the keys to all the TV stations and movie channels. I get to decide what I want to see and when I want to watch it.
If only I could find a similar device that would allow me to manipulate all the other scheduled events in my life the way my DVR lets me move around the TV schedules. Wouldn’t it be great to bring back Friday night in the middle of a bad Monday morning?
Right now my favorite Comedy Sit-Com is The Big Bang Theory. It has been on for several years (actually since Sept. 2007, thanks Google!) and I had no clue what it was about or who was in it. I stumbled onto it quite by accident and was hooked by the first commercial break. It comes on several times a night on a few different stations that I get with my Direct TV, most of them I have seen before, at least once, but once in a while I’ll catch a new one.
There are so many funny aspects of this show. I really am impressed the way that they have managed to bring so many members from the hit show Rosie to come over and interact with each other on today’s hit show The Big Bang Theory. I’ve asked a few people if they watch it and so far no one that I know does, a bummer not to have someone to talk and laugh about it/them all.
What I want to know is who is going to show up next from The Rosie Show……I mean is there a chance that Rosie herself might make an appearance? So many questions, so little time.
A few nights ago on our local PBS channel that I get with my current satellite provider had an awesome show on last night promoting the soul music of the 1970’2. The artists that they had there to perform were right on target, most were the original members, unfortunately some were not. My favorites were The Chi-lites, which prompted me to give a listen to “Have You Seen Her” today, of course via YouTube.com.
There are only a few “Reality Shows” that I enjoy watching. Survivor and Wife Swap are the ones that I try and watch and try and keep up with. Hell’s Kitchen used to be entertaining but I got tired of it after the 3rd season. And Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab was a good one as well.
