I love seeing more and more of the cars that I grew up around coming back in style. My first car was a 1967 Ford Mustang, so I have always had a soft spot for the Mustang and I can’t believe how many of them (old and new) I am seeing on the roads. I would love to own another Ford Mustang, of course it would have to be a used model since a new one is totally out of my financial reach at this point.
Because we are all staying close to home due to the hurricane threat I’m sure a lot of folks will be spending time online this weekend, just like me. I have just finished reading a most interesting blog that I found at http://www.tampa-used-cars.com. Since I have had my own blog for some time now I can relate to how important a well written blog can be and I can appreciate how helpful they can be. Since I haven’t owned a Mustang in a very long time I wanted to see what is being said about the newer Mustang models and their blog has been very informative as well as plenty of videos which is very cool.
I love how the Internet makes looking at new and used cars so much easier than running from dealership to dealership all around town. You can find everything that you need right here at this used car dealer in Tampa Florida and then trek on over there for the test drive, which is always the most exciting part for me. I don’t think many people will be heading out for test drives over the next couple of days until hurricane Irene is all over and done with, actually from what I hear the majority of businesses have temporarily shut down for the weekend.
Everyone is in a mad rush to get ready for the hurricane that is picking up speed and heading our way. The stores are having a hard time keeping the usual items stocked that people always rush in to purchase when something like this happens. I’m all set and ready to hunker down for the week end, but it looks like some of my neighbors are still at it. They are busy taking their lawn chairs, umbrellas and other pool related items and placing them in their pools, which I think is a pretty cool idea actually. After they load their pools up then they put their above ground pool covers on and everything should be safe and sound in there.
The first time I had heard of people doing that I thought it was pretty strange, but after it was explained to me I had to admit that it was a pretty good idea, something that I don’t think I would have thought of, but then again I don’t own a pool. Actually I am the only one on the block that doesn’t have pool, why should I when I have been invited to enjoy many of theirs if I want to, so I will spend my hard earned money on other things that I need and want instead.
The commercials for this new TV Reality show Hillbilly Hand Fishing have been interesting, to say the least, but I don’t think that I’ll be tuning in to the Animal Planet to see it any time soon. There is just too many weird, unknown, wacky, ugly things going on there for my taste to even just watch the darn thing, can’t imagine participating in such a thing.
Sometimes I really enjoy just losing myself online, just clicking here and there and landing who knows where. I have found some of the most interesting websites that way, as I’m sure so many of us do. As a tennis fan I run across some pretty cool sites that pertain to the game of tennis in various ways. Today I found myself looking at sportsurfaces.com which is the website of a company that specializes in sports court construction, repair, maintenance and resurfacing, which is something that I know so very little about and don’t know anyone in that profession.
I imagine it to be a pretty labor intensive process, but apretty lucrative one and rightfully so. Not only do they do tennis court resurfacing, but basketball courts, roller hockey rinks, handball courts, bocce ball courts, shuffleboard courts and numerous other sport surfaces that all need some type of upkeep and maintenance throughout the years in order to keep them not only looking good but safe for their players and other users as well. With so many people being suing at the drop of a hat, it is very important to be as safe as possible, am I right?
Check out this Before and After shot of a basketball court that they worked on to resurface. Pretty cool!

Now I’m getting antsy about getting in a game of tennis soon, before the July heat and humidity really kicks in and all I will want to do is stay inside and enjoy my big screen TV and my air conditioner!
One thing that I’d love to see more of and actually participate in is a Flash Mob. I Googled Flash Mob earlier today and ended up spending a lot more time on the computer than I planned on, getting caught up watching all of the great videos that are online for us to enjoy over and over. I wonder how you find out when and where one of these are being held and how to be involved in it. Anyone got a clue for me out there?
My sister loves searching the Internet for videos that will delight and entertain her and others that are in her Contact List in her email account. I had actually seen this one before and it cracked me up than and cracked me up once more when I opened up my email from her today!
Boys will be Boys!
I remember getting so excited this time of the year with school almost over and summer right on the horizon. All the swimming pools are getting ready to open, my friends and I shopping for our new bathing suits and life was good. Most of the summer was spent at the pool and the local McDonald’s.
I always wanted my parents to put in a pool in our backyard instead of the garden that always demanded so much of our time and attention each year. My sisters and I begged and pleaded with them for years thinking that we might somehow convenience them that it would be a good idea. Unfortunately we never got that pool. The parents weren’t happy with the prospect of all the time, money and materials that it would take to have a pool installed. Besides the expense of the pool and the water, there is the pool liners, the chemicals, the pump, the filters, along with the cover that would be legally necessary to have, not to mention the fence that would need to be installed to keep people out that my parents would be liable for. Bummer.
The pool liners, all the chemicals, along with the testing strips, the cleaning materials and all that I could understand, although my parents could certainly afford that, or so I thought. It was all the legal mumbo jumbo that I didn’t understand. At that young age I just thought that they were just being old fuddy duddies ( I hope that I spelled that correctly, I’ve never attempted to write fuddy duddy before, much less the plural form) unfortunately these days I know better. There are way too many news stories aired each year announcing the deaths of children in swimming pools which makes me think and thank my parents for just trying to keep us kids safe, along with all the other neighborhood kids that would have been in the pool right there with us with no life guard anywhere around.
For living out in the boonies we sure get a lot of air traffic all day and night around here. There is an Air Circus about 45 minutes away from here so we see a good amount of planes that are going there or leaving from there during the weekends when they have some of their larger shows from time to time.
We also get a good amount of helicopters flying by. Since don’t wear my glasses except for when I’m watching TV or a movie or while I’m driving, it is difficult for me to try and see what the writings and designs are decorating these helicopters. One of my neighbors commented that some of the helicopters are up there looking for Pot Fields that people have planted on their properties. Big Brother is eveywhere with no signs of leaving any time soon folks.
