Sunday’s are the best day of the week, a relaxing morning to sleep in on, a slow puttering about the house and the preparation of Sunday dinner is an on going thing throughout the day, usually using the slow cooker to produce the most wonderful aroma’s just enough to make your stomach wanting to eat much earlier than the designated time frame for the day.
Today a nice pot roast is simmering away with carrots, potatoes and beef broth, with plenty of salts and peppers to make it so nicely seasoned for maximum taste quality. It should be ready in time for the games.

I have already started researching the summer Olympics using my Daytona Beach Clear. I can’t wait! It is going to be so much fun to watch them. The Summer Olympics are definitely my favorite and they only come around once every four years. This year, the games are going to be played in London. I would love to go, but I don’t think that is going to happen, so I am going to spend two weeks reading about athletes on-line, watching the Olympicsbroadcast, and enjoying them! I think that my favorite summer event is definitely anything that has to do with swimming. I loved to swim when I was a kid, but was never good enough to swim in college and didn’t have the dedication to swim on a club team in high school. I know that he gets a bad rap, but I love Michael Phelps. I think that he is a great athlete! First of all, he’s really tall, which is a plus for a swimmer, but he also just seems like a nice guy! I can’t wait to see him swim this year. It is going to be awesome!
The yo yo was one of my favorite toys that I played with and used to help pass the time away with as a youngster. It’s too bad that today’s kids aren’t into yo yos as we were back in the day. It has been a long time since I haven’t even seen a yo yo in a store, on TV, in a toy box nor being played with by anyone, which is sad because I know that they are still being made and used in competitions. I only know this because I stumbled onto the Duncan Yo Yo website earlier today and saw that they are still being manufactured and used by some folks out there. Now I want to go out and buy a couple and see if I can still manage to do the tricks that I used to do so many years ago.
Only a few more months and hopefully I will be sitting in the not warm sun over at my sister’s house enjoying their new pool. And what a nice pool this is, they did good on this one, I have to give them that. They got a great deal on their “dream pool” that has all the perks you can think of. My favorite part is the heated spa area which is semi attached to the regular pool. Another great feature is the automatic pool cover which will save them a lot of time, energy and aggravation for many years to come. There is a lot to having a pool, so glad they will deal with all of that while get to kick back and just enjoy it all.
All they need now is some great patio furniture. Now that Christmas is over and done with we are all keeping our eyes and ears open for a good deal on some to pass along to them. I hope they realize just how much the rest of the family is excited about the pool and how much time they will be spending there. It’s a good thing we all get along so well, so it should be a hoot!
All of the hard work and rushing around paid off for this year’s Christmas with the family. My favorite gift today were the yoga mats that my brother and his new bride picked out for me. They knew what I wanted and made sure that I got exactly that. They enjoyed the video camera that I gave to them as well. It works out so much better when you communicate and get people things that really want and/or need instead of some crappy generic gift that will most likely be re-gifted at the first opportunity.
