Getting up early tomorrow and accompanying a friend to a Trade Show that he has signed up for in order to try and drum up some business for his mail and packaging store that has not been doing very well these past couple of years. Trade Shows are a great way to market any type of business and a great net working opportunity as well. I’ll be helping him set up and take down as well as handing out the challenge coins that he had made up with his companies logo embedded on to use as give a ways for occasions just like this. It should be an interesting day, haven’t been to a Trade Show in some time and I look forward to coming home with a bag full of promotional items that are always given away so freely during these events.

Owning your own home is, to be honest, a lot more work than I ever thought it would be. I figured you find the right place, buy it, then move in and…live happily ever after. SO not the case. I’ve been unpacking boxes for what feels like months now and everywhere I turn there’s something that needs to be replaced or renovated or whatever. I guess that’s what you get when you buy an older place but at the end of the day I have to be able to count on the purchase I made. I love knowing this place is mine all mine but that means a lot of responsibility. From the trash to the cable I know I’ve got to be in charge and sometimes that’s hard to do after a long day at work! I’ve never imagined myself as responsible as I am now and I guess that’s a good thing…buying a house sure did make me grow up fast. My mother would be happy to hear me say that, that’s for sure!

I really miss the handheld shower heads that I grew up with at my parent’s house so I’ve been looking around online at the shower heads that are now on the market these days. I know several people that have taken to their computers to further their education using the well known Walden university’s online degree programs that can be found at WaldenU.edu. These days it is all about getting the best job possible and in order to that you need to be qualified and have the right kind of degree in order to land a position considering that the economy is still in such turmoil, with no end in sight.

So I have decided to go ahead and learn about Walden and see if there is something that I think I can get into at this point in my life. I don’t think that I could handle going back to school in the typical school settings like back in the day. But I do think that I would have a fighting chance tackling furthering my education online. This is going to be my mission for this weekend. I’ll keep you posted on what I find out and what I decide on as soon as I figure it all out.
