It seems that most of the repairs that I have been trying to tackle around the house, inside and out, are out to get me! I have this huge, and ever growing list of minor repairs that really need my attention. Each time I try and get something done, there is at least one or two issues with the darned thing. Either I don’t have the correct tool that works, or I’m missing screws and/or the right lock washers, or I drop something and it ends up damaging what I was trying to fix now on a larger scale.
It’s getting to the point that I am leery of trying to do much of anything lately. Makes me wonder what ladder I walked under, because I certainly didn’t break any mirrors and there aren’t any black cats around here.
A really good friend of mine and her husband had recently moved to the Southern State of Texas and had always talked about having her own ranch. She had came into a little bit of money last year before they had moved, and they decided it was time to make their dreams a reality and had built their own rancher. Over time they had purchased a few dogs and a few beautiful horses to start with. After a while they had found that it takes a lot to take care of these beautiful creatures, and it’s tough when you have to not only take care of these animals, bu also need to work, to provide for them, and shop for not only yourself but for the animals as well.
Her husband doesn’t use the computer very much at all and had made a comment to me last month that sparked my attention. He said someone needs to create a website where u can shop for not only riding wear for themselves but riding equipment for horses as well. I remember seeing a pretty cool website that offers just that plus for dogs as well so I thought it would be nice if I sent them a link to their email and show them both this website, and they are so thrilled to have a one stop website for their riding purchases with an awesomely low price. Not only is it convenient and the prices are low, but they carry many different types of riding equipment that any rider would need.
You would have to be living under a rock some where in the desert not to know that being “Green” is the buzz word these days. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it. My parents were from the 70′s (the hippie days) and were very much in tune with environmental issues. So they raised us kids to be in tune with Mother Earth as much as possible. Recycling has always been a big issue then and it still is. I drive people crazy with my recycling issues, but that’s OK. I just want my kids, my grandchildren and their kids to have trees and clean water and clean air to breath well after I’m dead and gone.
So I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find that website hosting is doing what they can do in order to become as “Green” as possible. It appears that there has been an extra big push on making sure that your home and or business address plaque can clearly be seen from the street. There seems to be a lot of address plaques that are giving our emergency personnel a fit because they can’t see them and get to the location that they need to get to through their dispatch system that is directing them to an emergency. This issues can turn deadly and more people need to make their address signs easier to read, especially at night.
A lot of cities are going around and painting the house numbers on the curb to help this situation, which I think is a grand idea. Although many cities and towns don’t have the funds available to do this for everyone, so it is up to us to us to purchase an address sign that will do the trick. I’m glad that my taxes are being put to good use and that they provide us all with this safety issue.
I remember when I used to deliver pizza, as a night time job. It was a struggle trying to find the address on many houses and people would get upset if their pizza didn’t come pipping hot. That job didn’t last long, I can tell you that.
