The flea markets are doing a booming business these past couple years. There are more people selling things in order to bring in extra money that is needed so badly by most of us, along with more people attending these bargain centers in an effort to get good deals with their hard earned money.

This economy is not lighting up as far as I (or anyone else) can tell. Although I’m hearing that more people are planning on going away for the Memorial Day weekend this year. It must be all the people that work for the banks and mortgage companies that got all of the “bail out monies” from our president.

Knowledge is power and the Internet is a powerful tool for today’s consumers that is being taken more seriously these days. When I moved here my car insurance premiums went up and I remember complaining to my insurance agent about the rate increase. He informed me that I had moved into a different “territory” which they believe deserve charging a larger premium for. Now how crazy is that?

There has been a ton of commercials pushing insurance these past couple of years. The Internet allows you to research low cost car insurance without all the phone calls involved like back in the last century. (I’ve always wanted to say that) By going online you can find money saving auto ins tips with sites that help you compare coverages and rates. It’s certainly the most practical way of shopping for your insurance needs.

I found an interesting website that deals with low cost insurance issues at onlineautoinsurance.com. There is a lot of good information to read, links to all kinds of information related to insurance needs and concerns. I even watched one of their low income ins video online promotions that was worth watching, that is on YouTube.com.

I’ve decided that I’m going to start shopping around for a better deal on my car insurance. I hate to leave my current agent though. I used to work for him years ago and he always takes such good care of me, but if he can’t get my rates down I’ve gotta find some one else to do the job for me and there is plenty to choose from out there these days folks!

I had no idea that he was even into models and I’ve known him no for over two years. Last night I was invited to their house for dinner and had a nice laid back evening with just the two of them, that is when he showed me his military models that he so very proud of and into. Guess I know what I’ll be getting him for Christmas and birthday presents in the future.

Now is a good time to have someone come out and see just how energy efficient your home is. The cold weather is hitting us harder with each waking day and it will only get colder and colder from here. The cost of heating our homes has sky rocketed and having an home energy audit is a great way to find out what you can do in order to make your home less costly to heat, as well as air conditioned come the hot weather months.

I had my home looked at last year and they were the ones that prompted me to purchase and have installed my energy efficient windows that I am so happy with. And I got a good tax break from getting them as well, so it was well worth the time and money that I spent on them, especially when I get my heating and a/c utility bill now. There are lots of companies that will come out and do this service for you. I used the Homeenergyteam.com website and it worked quick and easy like for me so I feel comfortable passing this information along here today.

This news kind of came out of no where, my kid brother has decided to go to work for the I.R.S. of all places. Not really sure how I feel about this. I mean just like everything else in life, there is good and bad involved, but I don’t want to really dwell too much on that at this time until I see and learn a whole lot more about it.

Right I’m interested in how he is going to go about all of this. From what I understand you have to study and pass what they call an enrolled agent examination, which is pretty tough and I’ve not known my kid brother to be all that smart, but maybe that is because he is my kid brother and see him in a totally different light than most people. I am happy to know that their is plenty of help on the Internet to help him study and prepare for this enrolled agent exam. He has found a site that has all the enrolled agent study guide offers that he will need in this new controversial adventure that he is about to take part in.

All in all I guess it will be good to have someone in the family connected with the I.R.S, but my kid brother, oh my!

I had to give a ride to a friend to go to Social Services yesterday. While we were waiting for her case worker to come for her I had to use the ladies room and wasn’t happy with what I experienced one bit. I have an issue with restrooms that do not provide a hook for us to women to hand our pocket books and/or jackets on. There is nothing worse than having to put these items on the dirty nasty floor and I have become very vocal about that issue.

Besides not having a hook they did not offer any paper towels to use to dry our hands and to use to open the door. This particular restroom even had a sign posted asking to please turn out the light upon leaving. There is no way that I am going to put my newly cleaned hands on a dirty germ infested door knob and light switch. Now I do have to say that they did have one of the electric hand dryers installed, which is all well and good but that doesn’t provide me with anything to use to open the door and turn off the light. These restroom hand dryers are a great way to dry your hands but I truly think that they also need to have paper towels for exactly the reasons that I have listed.

So after leaving the restroom I asked the lady behind the counter if I could speak to the office manager and was happy to find that the manager come out in only a matter of minutes. I explained the situation to her and she said she would make sure a hook was put it ASAP. But when it came to the paper towel issue she explained that they had to install one of the commercial hand dryers because people were coming in there and stealing them and/or trashing the place with them and that they could not afford to keep replacing them and cleaning up the mess each day. What a shame that this has become an issue. She did offer me some hand sanitizer which I promptly accepted, but I’m still not a happy camper at the whole situation.

I think that it is pretty cool that in Canada you can find services that will assist with people that need to remove criminal record listings and help with the canadian pardon application that is available to their citizens. I never knew that that was an option until I stumbled onto a site that advertises these services. Oh how I love the Internet and all the things that I learn from it almost on a daily or weekly basis, how did we ever live and survive without it?

I have always been interested in taking a trip into Canada and see what it is all about. I don’t speak any French, but from what I understand that shouldn’t be an issue in most of Canada. The other issue is that I HATE the cold, but I’ve recently learned that isn’t always cold up there either as I always thought.

So if you have any interest in learning about the removal of criminal record canada style you can go to pardonservicescanada.com and see what that is all about and learn something new for the day as well. They have a lot of intersting stuff there.

I can tell you that there isn’t much to look forward to in getting old these days. I hear so much about about our seniors being totally confused about the health care that they are entitled to when they retire that it makes me a bit crazy to think that one day I’ll be trying to figure it all out myself. I hear that medicare part d is a real mind blower, so I was thinking that maybe I should be trying to get familiar with it for myself ahead of time, but then I think that it will be totally different by the time my time comes so why bother.

There is so much information out there on the Internet that is supposed to help people figure all of this out. But what if you still can’t get it straight? What if you don’t have any friends or relatives that are able to help out with situations like these? I don’t want to get old.

Right after the hurricane the word on the street (and on the news) was that the price of gas was going to drop because so many flights had been cancelled and so many folks were not driving so that there was a huge supply of gas not being tapped into. Of course when this happens they have to lower the cost, you know the whole supply and demand thing. But you could have fooled me on this since around here the price of gas just went up by ten cents a gallon!
