I grew up drinking gallons of Kool Aid, black cherry being my favorite. Since then I’ve turned to drinking either sweet iced tea or a cold beer when appropriate, but I’m growing tired of drinking the same old, same old, day in and day out, all day – every day, etc……………
So I’ve started drinking my black cherry flavored Kool Aid once again and am enjoying the taste of it once again. Who would have ever guess that I’d regress back to Kool Aid! But they do say that everything old is new again, so I’ll go with that one at this point.
One thing I can truly thank my parents for not passing down to me is the fat gene. If anything I tend to struggle with keeping weight on, so I don’t know all that much about natural fat burners and all the other natural options that are out there except from what I hear on occasion from some of my friends that are trying to lose weight. My best friend just informed me that she has talked with her doctor about getting the lap band procedure that so many have turned to and have had so much success with. She is nervous about the whole deal, rightfully so, I wish that she wouldn’t have to go to such extremes in order to trim down, but I know how important it is to her at this point of her life, so I have promised to go with her when she goes to have it done and be there to take her home and help her with anything that I can possibly do.

The commercials for this new TV Reality show Hillbilly Hand Fishing have been interesting, to say the least, but I don’t think that I’ll be tuning in to the Animal Planet to see it any time soon. There is just too many weird, unknown, wacky, ugly things going on there for my taste to even just watch the darn thing, can’t imagine participating in such a thing.
Seriously, who hasn’t dreamed of having a wonderful back yard with all the trimmings. Trimmings, like having one of those cool outdoor fireplaces, with a pond with pretty looking and sounding water falls, an outdoor kitchen (the ones that all the rich and famous people are having installed in their homes) and to complete it all with a super sounding sound system and of course a fully stocked bar with a pint sized refrigerator and freezer conveniently placed there as well. I know that I have always wanted a place like that and by God one day I’ll have it. A great place to entertain as well as a great place to kick back, relax and chill when ever you want or feel the need. That’s what I’m talking about.
I know I addressed the issue of choosing the webhosting issue before, but it is an important aspect of owning and operating a computer these days, if you want access to the Internet that is. My kid sister just purchased her first laptop over the weekend with some of the money that she got back from her tax refund. She put aside $700 as soon as she got her refund and has been shopping around, taking her time in finding the perfect laptop at the best price possible, so she has worked hard on this project and I’m proud of her. This kid, out of all of us, will go far in life, she has the patience of a saint where as the rest of us seem to fly by the seat of our pants most of the time.
She has also been researching which web hosting provider will be best for what she wants and needs. She has been asking around friends and family for their input as well as using the Internet to find some answers as well. I know this because she was over at my place the other day and we spent some time on the computer together and she was showing me what she had come up with. Since neither one of us like to cook and both of us love going out to eat we decided to go to our local Golden Corral and pig out on their food which is always inexpensive and they always have a great variety to choose from in their various buffet stands. It was great spending the day with my kid sister. One day I will have to quite calling her my kid sister, she isn’t a kid anymore by any means, but I don’t think I’ll be able to any time soon, we are creatures of habit after all and if that is my worst habit then I guess I’m one lucky son on a gun, right?
I hate feeling left out of conversations about some of today’s high tech stuff that I just don’t know much about. I ran into a couple of friends today and we decided to grab some coffees at our local Starbucks, one of my favorite places to get a nice hot full flavored mocha, topped off with a big blob of whipped cream. Well, it seems that my friends are very high tech and their conversations were full of m&a deals, Hedge Funds, Life Sciences, legal translations and a bunch of other stuff about corporate high finance. I felt so bad sitting there sipping on my mocha and spending most of my time looking out the window and at the floor, like a big fat out of touch dummy.
I do remember them mentioning a merrill virtual data room and I jotted it down so that when I got home I could look it up online and see what in the heck the big to do is about. So after taking the time to look it up I’m still pretty much in the dark, I’m sad to say. I mean I’m no dummy, but somethings just are out of league and I’ve got to own up to that I guess. I’m glad that I ran into these folks but I can tell that we have pretty much grown apart and I most likely won’t be doing much socializing with them in the near future.
