I however like to add a shot of Captain Morgan’s 100% proof Spiced Rum, along with a cinnamon stick, which I add for the flavor and to use to stir the mixture with also. It makes for a wonderful winter beverage that will certainly put a smile on your face and warm your insides at the same time.

This year’s Thanksgiving dinner celebration is going to be different from previous ones. My mother usually hosts these holiday functions at the old homestead, but this year my brother’s daughter has volunteered to have Thanksgiving at her new town house. We were afraid that my mother might be upset with this but she seems grateful that she won’t have to do both Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, since it is a lot of hard work for her to tackle each and every year. So we will see how it all works out come next Thursday afternoon.

We have a pretty diverse group of good people where I work, which makes for interesting conversations and interactions throughout the time that we are all stuck there each work day. Having so many people from various races and countries certainly makes some interesting smells coming out of the break room, especially during lunch time. You never know what you are going to find cooking in the microwave or being kept in the refrigerator, it can be kind of scary some times as well.

Another cool thing is the variety of music that gets played throughout the day on numerous computers that we all have access to at our desks. Yesterday our Nigerian employee found some interesting Online Nigerian Music at a site that is chocked full of Nigerian Songs that he found at Hibuzz.com, which also offer a variety of Nigerian Movies that a few of us were checking out to see what they were all about. It was a nice change of pace from the country music that so many of my co workers seem to enjoy listening so much. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against country music but I like my music to be mixed up a bit, not the same thing over and over and country music tends to get depressing after a while.

I did a bit of cleaning up around the place last weekend. Got rid of a ton of trash, freed up some space in my home office and the basement. It’s amazing how quickly we accumulate so much crap isn’t it? I found several years worth of phone books that I haven’t even looked at in several years. I mean if you have the Internet you really don’t need the local yellowpages for much. I can’t remember the last time I even thought of looking for something or some one in any type of paper phone book. My recycling bin got filled up quickly and is ready to be put on the curb in the morning for the city to pick up and recycle for me.

If I need to find something like one of the local restaurants all I have to do is go on a site such as local.com and they have everything that I need. The address, the phone number, directions and even reviews. Now what paper phone book can do all of that? I love how the World Wide Web has made a local search such an easy task to tackle and it can allow you to find people, places and things all over, which is just so cool.
