Surprise!

I’ve been spending some time online looking for Diaper Bags and Changing Tables. We are holding a surprise baby shower for a co worker and I have been put in charge of finding the perfect gift from 3 of us that want to go in together and get her something decent but affordable that we can pitch in together and purchase for her.

She doesn’t really need any Nursery or Furniture items, so that is a plus, we couldn’t afford anything like that but there are plenty of Babies and Toddlers items that we could pool our money together to get for her. This is her second child so she does have plenty of items left over from the first one, which is a good thing. Babies are expensive and it adds up real quick like.

Since she doesn’t plan on Nursing and Feeding the baby from her god given breasts there are bottle items to consider, but those don’t cost much and I’m sure she will be getting a variety of those types of products from a variety of sources.

Planning a surprise baby shower isn’t easy, but I think that we can pull it off. It will be fun and I look forward to seeing the look on her face when we catch her off guard next month. It’s all good!

Had to go to the local Jiffy Lube during lunch today and have them throw an oil change on my car. Thank goodness they got me in and out quickly, I even had enough time to grab a bit to eat before heading back to work. Lunch breaks are never quite long enough to get things done and something in the stomach to keep you going until you clock out.

Hamburger Helper

I’m so grateful for Hamburger Helper. They have really come out with a great variety of flavors to pick from. They even have Tuna Helper and Chicken Helper these days. Making dinner can’t get much easier than using one of their products. The fact that they are inexpensive is a major plus. I find them on sale for $1 a box and stock up and I’m good to go!

Peanut Butter

I love peanut butter sandwiches. You can add honey, or butter, or marshmallow fluff, or a cut up banana or jelly and jams galore and you will always come up with a first class sandwich each time. I don’t have a favorite brand, I usually just buy what is on sale or what looks good at the moment, any peanut butter works for me and it’s good for you, now how cool is that?

National Smiles Week

Today’s reason to send a smile is that it is National Smiles Week. Bet you didn’t know that, I sure didn’t - but then I rarely keep up with all of the “national holidays” that they have come up with. If it wasn’t for being online and having these pieces of trivia such as this I really wouldn’t know one national holiday from another.

Since there seems to be a holiday for each day of the year it makes it easier to find an excuse to send someone that you care about one of the wonderful gift baskets that you can find at 1800baskets.com. I used to love getting gift baskets on Secretary’s day when I worked for a large well known insurance company. And all of the baby and bridal showers that we always held for each other throughout the years warranted many a gift baskets and always had the neatest products, plants, food and/or flowers and all kinds of other goodies placed strategically through the arrangements.

When I first became engaged the first thing I thought was “how can I do this myself?”. I logged onto the internet, through my new shughes net North Carolina provider, and began searching. I came across a slew of websites that allowed me to plan almost anything.

From theme choices, wedding gowns, to hair styles you can find anything you need to plan a wedding. One of the greatest things I am able to do online is interact with all my vendors. I was able to book my DJ online, and can even plan out what songs I do and don’t want to be played. I was able to find all my vendors, look at what others had to say about their prices, professionalism, and overall reviews. I have been able to find amazing deals, and find the best vendors just through searching online.

Another thing that people fail to plan is proper etiquette. What exactly you are supposed to do. Who is to be invited to what, proper wording for invitations. It is a whole new world, that you are only visiting. Better plan well and get it right the first time.

Finally, I was able to build my wedding website. This allows all my guests, especially those from out of town to find information about hotels to stay at, entertainment in the area, and directions to different places. It also lets me share our story, and pictures. I’m so glad I have hughes internet satellite.

Going Fishing

I haven’t gone fishing in years. I was talking to a friend about fishing and he has invited me to go out on his boat this Saturday and try our hands at catching a few fish to fry up later in the night. It sounds good to me, I just that the weather will not be as extremely hot as it has been. We could use a nice weather weekend.

Too Much Plastic

It really irks me that each and every store that I shop at has a plastic card to issue you “in order to give you discount prices” we all know that they are using the information that is scanned on that piece of plastic for marketing reasons. I hate that my wallet is so jammed packed with all these plastic cards and not with hard cash. Why don’t they just offer cheaper prices and get on with it?

The Comedy Channel is on most of the time these days. I’m a firm believer of laughter being the best medicine and with this god awful heat that we have been experiencing each and every day, over and over again, we could use a good dose of some mighty fine medicine, along with a nice cold beer!

One of my favorite shows to watch on The Comedy Channel is Josh.O. This dude just continues to crack me up and he is easy on the eyes as well.
