Resse Payton playing with blogging

I’m glad to hear that my step-father is enjoying the millermatic welder that my brother and sister and I pooled our resources together to give to him for his birthday yesterday. My mother called to say that he had spent most of the day out in his shop playing (if you can call welding playing) with it, only to come it once for lunch before heading back out for more. It isn’t easy finding something that floats my step-father’s boat on gift giving occasion so this idea was a stroke of genius that my kid brother deserves a pat on the back for thinking of. Beats the heck out of the socks, slippers and ties that the old man is used to getting from us throughout the years.

I am so thankful for the Internet and all that is has to offer everyone these days, I can’t imagine life without my laptop and I’m so ever grateful for email, the best thing to come out of the Internet, in my opinion.

I do everything online, my banking, my checking, my bills, most of my purchasing, it is all done on my laptop and email keeps me in touch with all the family members and friends from all over the world. I have several pals over seas doing their time in the military and I get some strange calls showing up on my Caller I.D. at times, but mainly we keep in touch with emails and I love each and every one that I hear from.

I’ve been volunteering at a local animal shelter for a really long time now. I started doing that while I was in college to meet the service requirements of my sorority. Then I realized that I really enjoyed it and have been doing it in one capacity or another since then. I’ve had to switch shelters after moving and stuff like that, but it’s always been a whole lot of fun and a great way to make a difference.

Now something that I like to do in addition to helping out at the shelter is to also help foster puppies that are born in the shelter and don’t necessarily have the space to live in the shelter. I’m thinking about doing it a little more and have been looking at how it can impact my finances. I was looking up a lot of pet-related financial tips online when I saw some info on debt counseling. After I looked through it some I decided to get some counseling because I obviously have some financial issues.

I want to get a little more into puppy training so I can use that to earn a little extra money and get out of my financial issues. It’s going to take more than that, but I’ll figure it out.

There are only a few “Reality Shows” that I enjoy watching. Survivor and Wife Swap are the ones that I try and watch and try and keep up with. Hell’s Kitchen used to be entertaining but I got tired of it after the 3rd season. And Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab was a good one as well.

Give me a good comedy any time!

I’m thinking that a good quality Martor USA utility knife will be a great gift to present to my Dad on his 65th birthday this year. This is a big birthday to him, 65 has been earmarked for retirement, something that he is looking forward to but dreading as well. My Dad isn’t the type to just loaf around and my mother isn’t going to want him hanging around the house anyway, so I’m sure he will be out in his garage/shop most of the time a a good utility knife always comes in handy.
