The Water Heater Quit on Me

So, my water heater has sprung a huge leak, and everything was wet when I got home. Just what I needed when I got home from work. Ugh !

I was able to shut off the water to the heater without any problems, but now I have a ginormous mess to clean up, as well as needing to replace my water heater. This totally sucks, especially since it is going to cut into my savings to fix it. Oh and I cannot shower until it is fixed. I guess I’ll be ordering take out for dinner and I have to call a plumber in the morning to come fix it.

I am looking online to call places, but if they come out other than 9 to 5, it is super expensive, If I wait till they have an open appointment it is much less. The problem with that is that I will have no hot water for a few days and when they finally come I will have to take off work for them to get in and fix it.

It is really busy at work right now, so my boss will not be happy at all if I have to take a day off. I’ll ask for a meeting with him tomorrow and see if I can make up the time lost by staying late or coming in on Saturday so I don’t fall behind.

The Crunching of Numbers

Adding fractions has always given me problems, actually any type of math has always given me problems. 4th grade math and 5th grade math was a real huge struggle for me. I actually had to go to summer school one of those years before graduating to junior high. That really screwed up that summer for me and I started working extra hard after that so that I’d never have to do that again.

Back then we didn’t have the Internet to turn to. Now a days students can find tutoring on their computers, how cool is that? A handy dandy online Algebra solver would certainly come in handy for this kid back then when I finally got into High School. At this point in my life I depend on my calculator to get me through the day!

Push 2 at Guitarcenter.com For Our Family Computer Whiz

It feels pretty weird to get someone that you love and care about a birthday present that you don’t even have a clue as to what it is. I have talked about my geeky younger brother who has turned out to be the family computer whiz that we all turn to with our computer problems these past couple of years. I swear I don’t know why he has decided not to make this his full time job instead of just piddling around with it and assisting the friends and families that utilize his skills and knowledge for free. I understand that he loves his full time job, but he certainly isn’t getting rich by running the local gas station that he has been managing for the past 10 years or so.

All he wants for his birthday  is computer related products and I have agreed to purchase the push 2 at guitarcenter.com for him since it was the last thing on his  wish list that he emailed everyone, which is what our family has been doing these past couple of years when it comes to gift giving occasions. That way we all know who wants what and we can communicate so easily with emails. Who would have thought, ten years ago that we would be relying so heavily on the Internet to keep in touch with each other?

I just hope I got him the right one.

Magicard

Years ago I worked at a school for the mentally challenged, in the HR Department, I was a recruiter that was kept very busy each and every day with the high turn over rate of employees that would come and go as fast as I could find them, interview them, process them, train them and on the job in the quickest amount of time possible.

It was crazy but I learned a lot from the experience and I still keep in touch with several of the folks that I worked with there back then. Once in a while I’ll stop in and see who is still there and catch up with what’s going on and with who. I’ve been told that I would be welcomed back with open arms if I ever find myself looking for a job, which is good to know in these uncertain times.

Some things have stayed the same, but a lot of changes have occurred since I left the place. Technology is a wonderful thing and it keeps producing products that make life easier each and every day. I usually get the nickel tour of the place each time I stop by and the last time I visited they were proud to point out their new ID Card Printer and Badge Printer System that they ordered from ultramagicard dot com. I would have loved to have had that puppy back when I was working there, the one I was stuck with was ancient and was nothing buy trouble most of the time we tried to use it.

They tell me that at ultramagicard dot com you can get all the latest equipment for all your badge and I.D. needs. They have  MA100K,  MA100YMCKO and  MA250YMCKO  which are ribbons for Enduro series of ID card printers. This ribbon has a yield of 250 full-color images which is a good amount of images. They offer just about anything else that you would need in a environment that depends on systems that are now available like these.

Moving Again, Oh No, Not This Girl

Just the thought of having to move makes my stomach hurt. Moving is one of the most stressful things that a person has to go through in life and who needs more stress in their life? The last time I had to move I swore that it would be the last time that I would ever go through that again and I meant it although the Internet hadn’t been around that much giving us all the opportunities that are now so very abundant and useful that are available in just a few minutes of being online.

My ex sister-in-law is finding it necessary to relocate due to a great new job opportunity that is going to take her half way across the country. So she is now doing what it takes in finding Movers long distance quotes. All she had to do was Google “Movers long distance” and the first company that popped up has everything that she needs in order to make this important move a success with less stress involved in the process.

Since she is now on her own now that the divorce is final she is finding life to be more of a challenge than she thought it would be for a middle aged single woman with no immediate family members. Members that can help pitch in with so many things that she had gotten used to while married to my eldest brother who brought into the relationship a large family that was always willing and usually available to help lend a hand with so many things throughout the years. It’s too bad that their relationship ended with so much drama and resentment that she no longer can count on many of the family members that she had gotten used to depending on. Her and I still get along. We email each other once in a while and I will miss her, but life goes on and I wish her all the luck in the world with her new job right out of Oklahoma City.
