I really should have taken my brother’s advice and his check back in the 90′s that would have provided me with the training and the education that it would take for me to know so much about computers. I could have become an IT and be making good money at this point. Every company needs some type of managed hosting solutions and I could have been there for the ride.

I know such a small amount about computers that it scares me sometimes. When it comes to dedicated server hostingĀ and colocation services, I have to scratch my head and shrug my shoulders most of the time. I have gotten so dependent on our ITs at work that I wish I could call them about some of my home computer issues.

It is a darn good thing that I have a cousin that is a whiz at computers and it pretty good hearted about sharing his talents and skills with friends and family members that find themselves unable to deal with a good amount of computer issues. Every family needs a computer geek to rely on, right?

It looks like I’m going ahead with the search for decent Radial Engineering Guitars to buy here real soon. My favorite niece’s high school graduation is fast approaching and I told her a few years back that when she did graduate that I would buy her the guitar of her choice and by god she managed to do real good in school and so now I’m happy to reward her on her special day.

I haven’t been to a high school graduation ceremony is such a long time. There has been a lag between that particular age group in the family. But soon we will be attending many more in the up and coming years and we always have great graduation parties and festivities for the graduates. I look forward to attending many, many more.

Back in my junior high school days everyone seemed to really enjoy my company, since I was known for my class clown acts during class. One person I will never forget is the girl that used to be obsessed with my hair by playing with it and running her fingers through it every chance she could. Well to my surprise, she had found out where I was after all these years and had stopped in for a visit for a few hours to reunite with old class mates. I thought it was really cool to see someone I used to attend high school with and see how they turned out. It makes me wonder about a lot of old class mates of mine, I do believe Ill be putting out a search myself for all those who I remember.

If you know me at all either from here on my ramblings on this blog or in real life up and personal like then you know how I feel about the recycling issue that is such a hot topic these days. I grew up with parents from the Woodstock hippie generation and was brought up with recycling becoming second nature in life. I have a habit of getting on my soap box at times about people being too lazy to participate inĀ even the simplest recycling effort. And I’ve implemented many a recycling programs in places that I’ve worked out all of my life.

Tonight was the first night of the new TV show on CNBC called “The Secret Life of Garbage” and I’m so glad to see that this trash issue is being addressed on national TV. Did you know that 80% of the trash that we throw out could be recycled and that only 28% of our trash ends up in the recycling bins. That is an outrageous percentage folks, we could be doing so much better than that!

Knowledge is power and the Internet is a powerful tool for today’s consumers that is being taken more seriously these days. When I moved here my car insurance premiums went up and I remember complaining to my insurance agent about the rate increase. He informed me that I had moved into a different “territory” which they believe deserve charging a larger premium for. Now how crazy is that?

There has been a ton of commercials pushing insurance these past couple of years. The Internet allows you to research low cost car insurance without all the phone calls involved like back in the last century. (I’ve always wanted to say that) By going online you can find money saving auto ins tips with sites that help you compare coverages and rates. It’s certainly the most practical way of shopping for your insurance needs.

I found an interesting website that deals with low cost insurance issues at onlineautoinsurance.com. There is a lot of good information to read, links to all kinds of information related to insurance needs and concerns. I even watched one of their low income ins video online promotions that was worth watching, that is on YouTube.com.

I’ve decided that I’m going to start shopping around for a better deal on my car insurance. I hate to leave my current agent though. I used to work for him years ago and he always takes such good care of me, but if he can’t get my rates down I’ve gotta find some one else to do the job for me and there is plenty to choose from out there these days folks!
