Mountain Time

Yesterday I got to visit with my best friends parents, who I haven’t seen in a few years since they sold their house on the beach and moved up to the mountains of Virginia, right next to the N.C. state line, a place called Fancy Gap. What a beautiful place they have found there in Fancy Gap, the only thing that I don’t like about it is the nasty sulfur water that they have to rely on up there and the fact that cell phones are totally useless up there unless you wanted to climb up to the water tower and tie or bungee cord yourself to the tower while you try and get a distant signal. It’s a good thing that landlines are still available!

It was an awesome visit and I have an open invite to come back any time to see them, to spend some time away from the big city and enjoy some nice clean, crisp mountain air. Now that I’ve been there and know that I can find my way without the assistance of any GPS system it will be nice to have a place to go to get away from it all and spend time with some of the best folks I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
