Didn’t know that spending a couple of hours online looking at prospective wedding bands for men could be so darn exhausting. But I think my kid sister and I narrowed it down to 3 or 4 that she is now going to run across her fiance tomorrow. I don’t know why some women people are so indecisive when it comes to finding the perfect wedding rings/bands. I do realize that there are so many to choose from these days. Things were so much simpler back in the day.
As I stated the other day I have been checking out auto insurance via the Internet. It is the first time I’ve dealt with shopping around for quotes and coverages for car insurance. I’ve had my insurance with the same agent for a very long time and have never had to deal with looking around for cheap full coverage insurance by going online. When I found my agent we were all still using our local paper version of the Yellow Pages, was letting my fingers doing the walking. Remember that old line? I haven’t heard that expression for some time. I think they even had a song out back in the 70′s about the telephone man and letting your fingers do the walking. Might have to look that up on YouTube.com some time, it would be cool to hear that song after all these years.
Anyway I found another good site at cheap-autoinsurance.com. All I had to do was type in my zip code and 6 different insurance companies came up for me to check out. Nationwide being one of them (they are my current insurance company so of course I didn’t give them any information. Elephant Insurance was one of the choices. I have never heard of that company but decided to give them a shot, but wasn’t happy with the quote that they gave me.
Over the weekend I’ll try out some of the other ones that they have listed for me. Progressive is one of them as well as Geico, both being well established and well known insurance providers that might be able to beat Nationwide’s rates. I still hate the thought of leaving my current insurance agent. He has been wonderful to work with all these years and has helped me out of a few jams, which I thank him kindly for doing. But it’s all about the money at this point right? Guess we will see after I do a bit more research done, there is no hurry and no pressure. I like it like that.
It makes for a long sleepless night when I don’t have a fan circulating the air on me, like what happened last night. The ceiling fan that we have relied on for so many years finally burned out and left us tossing and turning all night long. I went out a purchased a box fan to use until we get a chance to look for the best online deals that we can find on indoor outdoor ceiling fans. Wasn’t expecting this to happen.
I remember when ordering a pizza delivery used to be a cheap meal that I usually took advantage of a couple of times a week, until the prices went up so crazy like that I could no longer afford my favorite pizza to be delivered to my door. They started charging for the delivery, plus the cost of the pizza and then came the tip and I’m a generous tipper since I’ve spent time working for tips in the past before. So it got to be that it started to total up into the thirty dollar range instead of the twenty dollar one that I’d grown accustomed to, and that is way too expensive for someone like me to have to dish out several times a week. It has gotten to be a real treat to be able to have Domino’s deliver their wonderful Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza that I can only afford maybe once or twice a month.
So I’m so pleased to see that the main top 3 pizza deliveries are having a pizza price war these past couple of years. Now I can afford to call Domino’s a bit more often these days. Now if other prices would start dropping, life would be so much easier on so many of us that are struggling with our finances due to the economy.
How can I say no to my favorite nephew’s request when he is such a good, honest, hard working young man that I have had the pleasure of being around. When so many kids are either in trouble or causing trouble this one is a straight A student and honest as the day is long, a nice change of pace wouldn’t you say. He is learning to play the guitar and really has his eye on a warwick 5 finger bass, that he sent me a picture of today on Facebook. It is a nice looking piece of work, I have to admit. I’ll have to see what I come up with in the near future, maybe a Christmas present issue to keep on the back burner.
