I have to say as an avid reader I try to branch out into different areas of literature. I have never really enjoyed the romance genre for a woman this may seem strange I know but that type of thing has never really appealed to me. Some of my favorite books are Mists of Avalon, and the Dune series but nothing has captured my interest like the Harry Potter series.
An infant, Harry is targeted by a dark wizard named Valdemort who murders his parents in the attempt to put an end to our hero. As the story line progresses Harry attends Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry where he meets his two best friends Ron and Hermione. The trio find themselves faced with challenges throughout the books including three headed dogs, fire-breathing dragons, and death eaters that are in Voldemorts service.
The coolest thing about this series is we get to watch the trio grow up, go through puberty and deal with real life issues we have all gone through at one point or another in our lives. The big screen has pumped out movies of every book, which is great because I can chill out on the couch and watch them on my DirecTV sports packages when I am not reading the books!
