It is interesting to watch the 4 or 5 major insurance companies battle it out daily on our TVs. Each one slamming the others, each trying to out do the others and what they latch onto and bleed it until it dries out and we are screaming each time the damned commercial comes on for the 6 time in less than 2 hours.
L.A. Ink on TNT, to me, is just an adult soap opera. I remember when it first aired, I was so excited to hear that a show was coming on concerning the art of tattooing. It didn’t take long to figure out that it was more about the B.S. going on with all of the employees and the numerous ex employees in the tattoo shop. Silly stuff at that.
I wasn’t aware that alcohol addiction is one of the most dangerous types of addictions. It seems that some drugs are only psychologically addictive, but alcohol is both psychologically addictive as well as physically addictive as well. So when an addict attempts to stop using alcohol they will feel actual physical pain, which is called withdrawal. There are some good and interesting Drug Addiction Facts and Drug Addiction Statistic informational sites on the Internet that I spend a few minutes checking out the other afternoon.
I have a good friend, who I used to work with years ago, who is finally turning to a Philadelphia Alcohol Treatment center come the middle of October or so he states in his latest email that I read last night. I’m so proud of him for taking the bull by the horns and doing the right thing for himself, his wife and his kids. He comes from an alcoholic family and and has been struggling with this addiction just about all of his life. I’m really hoping that this Philadelphia Alcohol Rehab will do the trick for him and that he can be well enough to be able to participate and enjoy the up and coming holiday season, alcohol free.
If you know me at all either from here on my ramblings on this blog or in real life up and personal like then you know how I feel about the recycling issue that is such a hot topic these days. I grew up with parents from the Woodstock hippie generation and was brought up with recycling becoming second nature in life. I have a habit of getting on my soap box at times about people being too lazy to participate in even the simplest recycling effort. And I’ve implemented many a recycling programs in places that I’ve worked out all of my life.
Tonight was the first night of the new TV show on CNBC called “The Secret Life of Garbage” and I’m so glad to see that this trash issue is being addressed on national TV. Did you know that 80% of the trash that we throw out could be recycled and that only 28% of our trash ends up in the recycling bins. That is an outrageous percentage folks, we could be doing so much better than that!

Being the avid golf fan, the past time has become a weekend ritual for myself and son. Each Saturday we head out to our favorite greens, the Gaylord Opryland Resort Golf Course,Gaylord Springs. It is such a great place to get in a terrific game of golf, and during the last several years of my playing, those sharing their love of golf have became great aquaintances.
My wife does volunteer work each weekend, so she is always hassling me to remember to set the securitychoice alarm before I walk out the door. Once this is done, I am lost in my world of golf for the remainder of the day. She always love to hear my stories of the great game I played today!
My game gets better with every weekend that I am out there playing. Although most say no, I still think I could be as good as Tiger Woods one day. The golf course at Gaylord Springs is 18 holes, with a clubhouse that wil take your breath away. I think playing there will help me play like him one day.
Heard about this most unfortunate mishap that happens to Miriah Carey the other night. Found it Yahoo.com and then on YouTube.com to be able to watch it. YouTube.com comes through once again. It’s not a long video that makes you wait forever to actually see the good stuff, so that helps.

My sister is very happy and excited to announce to us, in last night’s email, that she has excepted a position in the Long Beach California area. She has been looking for something like this for over a year now and this is a huge step for her to take on. But since her kids have all grown and moved away and she divorced her last husband all most 10 years ago, she is free to fly where ever she wants or needs to and Long Beach sure sounds like a nice place to land in for her right now. She will be further away, but she doesn’t live close right now either, but we will she her during the holidays and visits like she has been doing for so very long.
Right now she has her hands full looking at various Long Beach Apartments. She doesn’t need much for just herself but she needs and deserves something half way decent. She will be entertaining, the Commercial Real Estate business dictates that you doing a lot of socializing and entertaining. It’s a good thing that the Internet is being such a big help in finding Apartments for rent in Long Beach, CA. Finding a Long Beach Rental from half way across the country is a huge undertaking and she has her hands full.
Best of Luck to you Sis!
Thanks for the post, Vernon Lowe
I sat on my couch on a Sunday morning watching a travel show I so often get lost in. A little inspiration goes a long way with me, and it was on this day, where Direct TV Florida gave me the idea to travel to this international destination.
Planning a trip to Italy was surprisingly effortless. In a moment’s time, my fiance and I decided to go Rome with a three day stop in Naples as a side trip. We booked our trip online with relative ease and for an unbeatable price. Nine full days in Italy with train travel in between – I knew I was soon to be in heaven.
Our first stop was Rome. After catching a train from the airport into the heart of the Eternal City, we found our hotel and showered immediately. The next four days were a whirlwind. We spent our days exploring, eating, and drinking delicious wine. From Roman ruins to the Holy City known as The Vatican, we will never forget our visit to Rome. The region of Naples, moreover, was another absolute delight. After climbing Mount Vesuvius, visiting the ruins at Pompeii and exploring the paradise that is Capri, we came to love Italy’s Southern region. With so much left to explore, I simply cannot wait to come return to this enchanting country.
