Our computers and the Internet have come a long way in the last couple of decades. There are so many decisions to make when purchasing a computer, what brand, what system, what type of printer to get, etc…….Then once you get one you have to get it all set up and choose which web site hosting to use. There are tons of web hostings to consider. I personally like the fact that several of these are advertising that they are going green. I think that is just awesome and would like to pass the word around that they are out there in hopes that more people will choose them, since being green is the right thing to do these days.
I found a great web hosting rating and directory site at webhostinggeeks.com. That is were I found the listings of green web hosting. It caught my attention and I’m glad that I explored it and found what I did. They indicate that iPage is 100% wind powered, which is pretty cool, if you ask me. We all need to do all that we can to keep our mother earth is the best shape possible and recycling is just the tip of the ice berg.
As I stated the other day I have been checking out auto insurance via the Internet. It is the first time I’ve dealt with shopping around for quotes and coverages for car insurance. I’ve had my insurance with the same agent for a very long time and have never had to deal with looking around for cheap full coverage insurance by going online. When I found my agent we were all still using our local paper version of the Yellow Pages, was letting my fingers doing the walking. Remember that old line? I haven’t heard that expression for some time. I think they even had a song out back in the 70′s about the telephone man and letting your fingers do the walking. Might have to look that up on YouTube.com some time, it would be cool to hear that song after all these years.
Anyway I found another good site at cheap-autoinsurance.com. All I had to do was type in my zip code and 6 different insurance companies came up for me to check out. Nationwide being one of them (they are my current insurance company so of course I didn’t give them any information. Elephant Insurance was one of the choices. I have never heard of that company but decided to give them a shot, but wasn’t happy with the quote that they gave me.
Over the weekend I’ll try out some of the other ones that they have listed for me. Progressive is one of them as well as Geico, both being well established and well known insurance providers that might be able to beat Nationwide’s rates. I still hate the thought of leaving my current insurance agent. He has been wonderful to work with all these years and has helped me out of a few jams, which I thank him kindly for doing. But it’s all about the money at this point right? Guess we will see after I do a bit more research done, there is no hurry and no pressure. I like it like that.
My goodness has Myrtle Beach grown since I was a kid and went there on summer vacations. I was spending some time on the computer today on my break and was looking at the golf package Myrtle Beach resorts are offering and I was blown away at the many hotels and resorts that are now there. I found http://www.myrtlebeachseasideresorts.com/ and was drooling at their variety of accommodations that they have to offer all over the Myrtle Beach area. I always enjoyed the North Myrtle Beach area as a kid, my parents always made it a point to stay on the north side. We are creatures of habit.

Some major changes have been going on there. Maybe next year, if my tax refund check is half way decent I can take a long week end and go there once again. It is a shame that the economic crisis is effecting so many people in a variety of negative ways. Homes being lost, jobs being scarce, crime on the rise and drug treatment centers popping up left and right in order to serve so many people that have turned to drug and alcohol abuse. It can’t get much worse than this folks.
Tomorrow is the first day of school in the county that I live in. We can now look forward to all of the yellow school buses shuffling all the local kids back and forth to their schools. Sometimes it really sucks to be stuck behind one for a long period of time with no way of getting around it, while it’s stopping here and there taking on or dropping at various bus stops along the way.
