Short and sweet and to the point, nothing more and nothing less, just the best from me to you and yours!

One of the most unusual gifts that I received for Christmas was a basket of cookies and candies of the most unusual flavors and varieties. My favorite being a Red Delicious Apple Caramel by Carousel Candies, they really taste like a candied apple and I am now on a mission on how to find more of these wonderful tasty treats that I have no idea where they came from, due to the Secret Santa party that we had at work.

It is still unknown and a mystery as to who drew my name and found this new treat that I am enjoying now, too bad that there is only 10 in the box. I’ll keep asking around a bit and in the mean time, guess I’ll turn to the Internet for my search, probably a much easier way of finding the source than playing twenty questions at work.

Sunday’s are the best day of the week, a relaxing morning to sleep in on, a slow puttering about the house and the preparation of Sunday dinner is an on going thing throughout the day, usually using the slow cooker to produce the most wonderful aroma’s just enough to make your stomach wanting to eat much earlier than the designated time frame for the day.

Today a nice pot roast is simmering away with carrots, potatoes and beef broth, with plenty of salts and peppers to make it so nicely seasoned for maximum taste quality. It should be ready in time for the scheduled game between Washington and Philadelphia that is on later this afternoon. Should be a good game, I know the food will be good.

I have spent the last couple of weeks sorting through tons of boxes in the basement, looking for items to donate to our local GoodWill before the end of the year comes to an end. I really need some tax deductions for use when filing with the IRS comes around, and our GoodWill store here makes the donating process easy on us. You don’t even have to get out of your car, they come out to you, they take the bags and/or boxes, and they give you your receipt and you are on your way, you never have to leave your vehicle, simple as that.

My basement is flowing over with boxes that just need a little time to be gone through. So much of the stuff down there is old, out of date, out of style and out of my hair. So I’m glad to be rid of so much of it and using it as a tax write off makes the work worth while.

Box Tops for Education is a wonderful program for schools to be involved with, it is a good way to add the much needed revenue that is needed for most schools these days. You can find these Box Top coupons on hundreds of grocery items that are at the store, you just clip them and send them to your kid’s school, or to your favorite place of learning, if you don’t have any school aged children in the house.

My brother’s daughter’s English teacher sent an email to all of the parents advising them that extra credit will be given to the students that bring in these very popular coupons, and my niece certainly could use the extra credit. So I am sending an email to all my friends and family asking them to start clipping and start sending these valuable coupons to me in hopes that I can help not only his daughter, but the entire school as well.

You can go to Boxtops4education.com for further information, if you so desire, to check this program out for your use
